To prepare a microscope slide, you need to be precise and deliberate. Each material to be used should be ready and on hand. This usually includes the cover glass, slides, a dropper, and the specimen you want to view.
Make sure that your equipment is very clean. Drop a small amount of your specimen on the center of the slide. Then slowly lower the cover onto the area at an angle.
Let the specimen spread out under the cover naturally. There is no need to press the slide and the cover together. Then just place the slide on the microscope and have a look.
A word of caution, though: Do not put too much of the specimen onto the slide, or it will overflow or slip around when being viewed. A very small amount is all you need.
