Engines installed in NASCAR cars are based on the 340-cubic-nch V8 engine design that was introduced in the 1960s. They are custom-made racing engines, though they have still things in common with the original V8 engine. They have still the same number of cylinders, same bore center lines, and the same base displacement. NASCAR engines can produce 750 horsepower even without turbochargers or any other exotic elements.
