20/20 vision means that when you are standing about 20 feet away from an object, you are able to see what normal individuals can see at that distance. 20/20 vision is not perfect vision; eagles, for instance, have much better vision than 20/20. 20/20 is simply normal vision for humans.
If the first number is larger than 20, as in 30/20 or 40/20, it means your vision is below normal. Vision rated 20/10 is better than normal.
