You can contact the three major credit bureaus and obtain an credit report from them. These three are Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Upon your request and a small fee, they will send your credit report to you. It is a good idea to get your credit report from all three as each will report things differently. Not only this, but it is common to find errors on different credit reports.
You will need to provide the following information to a credit bureau in order to obtain your credit report:
- Full name
- Current address
- Previous address (if changed in the last 5 years)
- Social security number
- Date of birth
- A copy of your valid driver's license
- Billing statement or utility bill with your address clearly marked
- Signature
