The proper way to cleaning a fabric awning is, first, to pre-spray to remove the sediments that can cause scratching when you start to scrub.
After pre-spraying, you can start scrubbing with soap and a soft scrubber. Make sure that you start from the bottom to avoid the clean streaking. Sometimes the area that you are scrubbing will depend on the temperature and whether it is sunny or windy.
After scrubbing let the soap remain on the awning for a few minutes but don’t allow the soap to dry there. After a few minutes, rinse the awning fabric thoroughly and let it dry. When dried, it should be shiny and attractive again, like new.
Always remember to be careful about the soaps you use in cleaning your awning. Some soaps contain chemicals that can destroy your awning fabric.
