Yurt is a circular, domed, portable tent that is used by the nomadic peoples of central Asia. In fact, it is the only home some nomadic tribes know. The word "yurt" is of Turkish origin.
In our day, the word yurt also refers to round huts made of modern materials. Modern yurts are copied or based on the originals found in central Asia. Today's yurts are carefully engineered and built for extreme weather conditions.
