Historically speaking, Halloween is associated with folk holidays like the Celtic Festival that were celebrated by the Roman people before the Christian era. The celebration coincides with The Day of the Dead in Mexico.
During the 10th century, the Roman Catholic Church made it an official celebration (All Saints Day) on November 1. However, several countries in Western Europe, as well as the United States, celebrate "All Hallows Eve" or Halloween, on the evening of October 31st.
