Hard contact lenses are sometimes preferred over types of lenses because they are more durable and more cost-effective. On the other hand, some people do not like this type of lens since it can be uncomfortable to wear. This may be due to the fact that a hard contact lens does not permit oxygen to immediately reach the cornea. The lens has to be moved around the surface of the eye (usually achieved by normal blinking) to get oxygen under it.
Soft contact lenses are popular nowadays because they are flexible and allow oxygen to get to the cornea. Additionally, people can choose from daily wear or extended wear soft contact lenses. However, soft contact lenses are more costly compared to hard contact lenses.
