Tax on approved grants depends on the purpose for which you are using it. For instance, if you will be using the grant money for funding a money-making project, expect to taxes on your profit, but not on the grant money.
On the other hand, if the grant money is intended for non-profit purposes, you should not be paying any taxes on it.
