You do not usually need a passport when you take a cruise in the Caribbean. You will only need passport if you want to travel to certain countries in the Caribbean that require passports, such as Bermuda or the Bahamas. Most other countries in the Caribbean do not require passports. If you sign up for a tour, your tour company should tell you whether you need a passport.
