The Caribbean refers to the many islands located in and around the Caribbean Sea. The Caribbean Sea is located immediately south of the southeastern part of the United States (specifically, south of the states of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida), immediately east the Yucatan Peninsula of Central America and immediately north of the continent of South America. The Gulf of Mexico neighbors the Caribbean Sea on the west, and the Atlantic Ocean on the east.
