If your diamond is dull, check its clarity. If the clarity is 12, then you're at the bottom of the list of gem-quality diamonds. Diamonds with clarity below 12 are not allowed to be sold as gems, but are considered "industrial diamonds" and are used to make tools. That might be one reason why your diamond doesn't sparkle or glow with life.
You should also ask yourself: How much did it cost? Many retailers today have the 'mark-up to mark-down' mentality. Surely you don't expect a retailer to give you a 65% discount from the diamond's true and fair price and still stay in business. If you're not happy with your diamond because of its dullness, why not take it back and look for a higher quality diamond.
