Yes. Studies show that eating approximately 1.6 ounces of dark chocolate daily can be beneficial to your health. Dark chocolate is high in cocoa content, which is loaded with cholesterol-battling antioxidants called flavonoids, which contain epicatechin. This keeps cholesterol from gathering in blood vessels, therefore reducing the chance of blood clots. It provides protection against high blood pressure, lung cancer and heart disease. It also improves the body's processing of sugar.
A small amount of dark chocolate is good, but consuming a big amount is not a good idea. Remember, chocolate has a lot of calories; you have to balance the extra calories by eating less of other things.
