First, check the label of the item for the best way to wash it. If the label suggests machine washing (as is normally recommended) then make sure to load the washing machine evenly so it stays balanced. Wash the item in warm water and use a dryer to fluff it afterwards. You should not line-dry down-filled items because it might clump and flatten them.
