In order to remover permanent marker from upholstery, carefully vacuum it first to remove the dust and dirt. Never soak the material because it can just worsen the stain and can also create mildew.
Use a non-oily hair spray or rubbing alcohol as your cleaning agent. Using a small amount of on a soft cloth, rub the cleaning agent into the fabric with a circular motion. You may have to repeat this procedure several times to completely remove the stain.
