To remove rust stains from clothing, soak the affected area in warm water with lemon juice or oxalic solution. If the rust stains are stubborn, a mixture of cream of tartar and table salt can remove it. Wet the area and spread the mixture thickly over the affected area, then put your clothes in direct sunlight to dry. After that, remove the dried mixture and launder the clothing item.
