Sports events are not limited to the strong and vigorous; people with disabilities can also participate in them. There are different types of sports events suited for specific disabilities, such as:
- Sports for the deaf. Common examples are basketball, badminton, athletics, and bowling.
- "Paralympic" sports. Archery, cycling, equestrian, swimming, and judo are some sports under this category. Wheelchair basketball, rugby and tennis are also available.
- Sports for the blind. These days, cricket and golf can be played by blind individuals. These games are modified for blind players to participate.
